The Seminar on Russia-India Cooperation was held in the RCSC in Kolkata
The seminar “Russia-India cooperation: heritage and prospects” dedicated to the National Day of the Russian
Federation and jointly organized by the Indo-Russian Friendship Society and the Russian Centre of Science and Culture
(RCSC) was held at the RCSC in Kolkata on June 20, 2017.
The Third Secretary of the Russian Federation in Kolkata Mikhail Gusev,
the General Secretary of Indo-Russian Friendship Society of West Bengal
Ajay Kumar De, the Deputy Head of the Representation of the Rossotrudnichestvo in India Yury Dubovoy, the member of
the parliament of India Pradeep Bhattacharya, members and activists of the Indo-Russian Friendship Society,
representatives of the public took part in the event.
During the seminar the participants marked the major milestones of Russia-India cooperation in historical
perspective with a glance of celebration the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries in 2017.
Emphasizing the unique nature of Russia-India relations, which have never been marred by conflict or controversy,
panelists noted that both countries have constructive engagement on a wide range of areas, including interaction on
current international and regional issues within the framework of multilateral and bilateral formats. Mutually
beneficial cooperation proceeds successfully in trade-economic, military, scientific, cultural and other areas.
The seminar concluded with an informal talk over the hightea.
